advocacy for women-s human rights: opening event

June 28 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

  1. June 2018, 18.00-19.30, Bienvenidas-Room Missionsstrasse 21, 4009 Basel

Public Panel Discussion with experts from 4 continents  How can we guarantee the sustainability of our advocacy work? How can advocacy activists be protected?

Everyone is talking about sustainability, but what do we mean by it? How can “sustainability” and “advocacy” be thought together? What does sustainability mean in a conflict-driven context such as northeast Nigeria? What does sustainability mean for an indigenous woman in Bolivia, a feminist theologian from Indonesia, or an activist for LGBT rights in South Corea?

In the third international Advocacy Workshop in Basel, we deal with the manifold and dynamic meaning of sustainability. The invited experts from Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America give insight into their various experiences with sustainability and discuss the role that sustainability plays in their daily advocacy work for gender justice.

We cordially invite you to join the event and the subsequent Apéro Riche.
