Another year passed by since we launched our blog on May 4th, 2015. The blog turned into an important space for sharing the work of different women’s networks and partner communities related to Mission 21.
In 2016, the Women & Gender Desk focused its work on strengthening leadership skills by launching the advocacy programme. A group of leaders coming from Asia, Africa and Latin America gathered in Basel and Geneva to get to know new tools for the defence of women’s human rights. Based on this experience, we started to spread and promote in our blog all the activities and actions driven by advocacy leaders as well as organizations and women’s networks. Many of them were engaged in worldwide campaigns such as: 16 days against gender based violence, #no one less in Latin America, International day of human rights, International day of HIV-Aids, etc. In addition, during 2016 we promoted the development of self-care technics, and gender mainstreaming tools. Some of the outputs in these areas were also shared in our blog and the Women’s Letter 53.
The experience of the last two years convinced us that there is a need of having a blog in order to continue spreading and sharing the work done by the women’s networks related to Mission 21. Thus, we will have a new design for facilitating even more the intercontinental dialogue among groups and organizations. We invite you to the re-launching of our blog in May! Become a part of this virtual platform by sharing your activities, reflexions, events, etc!
