On October 16, 2019, Ruth Ketsia Wangkai, Chair of the National Management Board of PERUATI (Theological women’s association in Indonesia) participated in the second stage of selection, called the Public Test. This stage is intended to find out insights and knowledge around women’s issues in Indonesia. in addition, this stage aims to introduce candidates to the public so they can ask questions and evaluate the capacity of each candidate. This public testing activity was attended by representatives of state institutions, educational institutions and various civil society organizations.
This is the first time in the history of Peruati that officially send representatives. Ruth Ketsia received many letters of support and recommendations from various institutions that have been Peruati’s partners including: PGI, Community-based organizations (interfaith organizations, Gender Mainstreaming Advocacy organizations)
Ruth was part of the Mission 21 Training of Trainers in Advocacy for women’s rights in 2017.
I am very happy and proud of this achievement even though there are no final results but we have had the courage to appear and advance at a more strategic level in our country. In the next few days we will continue to struggle to build intense communication with other organizations so we can get more support for PERUATI. Continue to remember our struggle in your prayers.
